Hi All.

Hey peeps,

This is andy blogging. Hope u all still remember who i am. =) After reading qing xiang's entry, i am like so tempted to write something in. Hmm seems like most of you are doing some sort of admin duties rite? I tried to find admin duties before i got my job and thought it was an really easy job. Well i guess no job's easy on earth. I agree with qing xiang. Slacking and doing nothin can be one of the worst form of torture. I have done that before, working as an ursher to ursher ppl to the examination halls. AFter the urshering, we had to actually go and sit down to wait for ppl to go toilet before we can stand up and do something. If not, we are just required to just slack down there. We cant even read like qx, cos that will make us like distracted. I am currently working for UOB, as an Customer Service Rep, those who actually answer credit cardmember's enquiry. Trust me, if u r in my shoes, u will love your job. I thought my job was fun at first, till i realised otherwise when i started picking up calls. Everyday you are bound to get difficult situations, and you just have to bear when it. There's no choice. It's not easy lo. And everyday you have to do follow ups on the previous day's customer and things just get piling up.

Most of us dun bring stress home after work, but for me i am like bound to. You have to worry about remembering to call back customers and stuff, and mistakes are bound to occur. Thus you have more work by answering to others. How i wish i can get one job with no job stress to bring back home! haha. Well it's the new year break nevertheless, so ppl pls enjoy!

Happy chinese new year guys!

andy

This Fish Is Going Places

Yo
Hi, everybody is recruit qx again. I am so happy to see u guys using this blog ya.
Hmm, to andrew, its okay we can still always meet up ya. =)
Finally, someone understands how i feel and that is my dear friend andrew. I have completed slightly more than a month in the army but I really do not know how long I can survive in this condition. Hmm it has been one of the most down period in my life. Firstly, if I work very hard and contribute alot, I am not given any payrise. Secondly, though I am a very friendly guy but its hard to make really good friends because most of my colleagues lead a very different life. There are only two non-smokers in my unit and I am one of them. There is hardly anything for me to talk with them because most of my colleagues are going to get married soon. Thirdly, being an admin clerk, you get push around and the whole day they make you do boring stuff like shredding paper for the whole day or looking after the phone. I do not know how to describe but it has been a very down period and we are not allowed to work parttime when we are serving our national service ya.
To be honest, I envy Kexin. He is in the police force and life there is great. In the army, recruits fall in for training at 530 am. In the police, they fall in at 7am. In the army, u slog like a dog until 10 + then u rest. But, in the police force, afternoon is always sleeping break. Then in army you got to go forest and fight with mosquitoes but police all training is conducted on mainland with no FOREST involved. In the police, if u get posted to neighbourhood police force, the police academy provide u with free driving lessons, this means you can save up to 2000 sing dollars on driving lessons. In addition, the police training camp is on main land so u can go home easily, but army its so far away on an island. So in conclusion, I feel that the police rocks. (well, this is only a personal opinion, hope that no one will penalise me! )
So to Wangyi and Yuxian and to the rest of our classmate going to and currently in the officer, work hard and be an officer. Cauze believe me the rewards and experience u gain is realli alot. Dun be a clerk!!!!!!!!
Anywae, new year is coming. I want to go chinatown with u guys again. I rmb the first time we went chinatown, in year 1 thre was me andy XIAYANG and yeekiat. the second year we had slightly more people, like bliss and su. Hmm anywae, if you guys are free, I can organise another chinatown excursion ya. Just sms me if you interested.

howdy

hello.....this is andrew......long time no see.....no talk.....no hear.....
sorry to qing xiang for pang sei today......hais....the hassle of commuting......

anyways..... iam working at lavender cake shop yea...so.....everybody buy lavender cny cookies if you wan good cookies......woo...
i work in the mangement side.....office work.......sianfied.....

speaking of which....qing xiang mention in his last post then some might thnk that sitting down and do nothing for the whole day is very shoik.......actually i was those ppl who tot that way.....was i repeat.....things chnged when i started work.

my working hours 9-6 five days a week.. mostly consisting of keying in figures......chopping vouvchers(there was one day i chopped 7000 vouvhers..bleghzz)......cutting......counting...laminating....binding.carry hamper up and down..yep.... so as you can see ......it can get boring....
first day of work i was already mentally exshausted.......though now iam already used to it...i have realised that boredom can kill. iam largely a privelegd figure in the place....cos the boss is my mom's friend....so either i do boring easy things....or i do nothing.....sometimes they even have to THINK of things for me to do.....anyway...back to my earliier point.....i realised that sitting down in an air con room may seeem comfortable.....but if your bored.....and its 8 frigging plus hours......its no joke....

of course i cant compare to qing xiang....after all i got internet can surf.....and yes...again...iam a privelegd figure in there..then again iam paid malysian rates so yea.....thats shit for you....speaking of which.....the bakery hires some tennagers 16 and above form the utskirts as they really need manpower in cny.....they come here and work like shite.....9 to 11 plus...EVERYDAY...no friggin rest..in return they get pay and lodging...i ask them wats their pay?.....to my horro they reply 3.8 per hour.....yes thats in ringgit.and i heard the lodging is crap....i tell them in singapore die also you at least get 4.5 singapore dollars...not that i blame lavender bakery....after these are the conditions in malaysia...well...kinda reminds me of child labour expliotation in india....hmm...ha...anyhowback to the point... i dont fancy feeding mosquitoes and no air con either......so qing xiang....dont go for medical review.....

now we all know, that william the guard has one of the toughest job on earth......my goodness .....stand ther do nothing...can die man....by the way the school decided to do away with him....so much for the world's tuffest job......thoery of labour where danger and umplesent conditions equates to small supply and thus higher wages not applicable.....why?....cos though difficult..apparently any tom dick and harry can do it.....so.....easy to chop and chnge......william need to upgrade.....maybe go for etiqutte lessons or something watever the simple but tuff job requires....

as for the future,,.,,,next month i might be transfering to nj cai fan private limited as excutive director of waste disposal...so feel free to drob by say hi......for now...sayonara......

I Hate The Phone

Hello people!

Happy CNY! Su is coming down so lets all go visit okay? =) Later im having reunion dinner!

Oh, im stopping the waitressing thing when this month ends, started admin work this week but they are EXPLOITING me! I only end at 830 and I dont get OT pay. Sucks. And the job requires me to call customers to get documents and stuff, and i have a freaking QUOTA! So crap. And my bosses are very slack and they take smoke breaks and high tea and come in at 10. ARG!

Yes, so wanted to quit but still deciding. The money is not bad, $1200 and also get commission, just that i think they treat us like crap la. Also i cant stand being the person that i hate, having to be an irritating, pain in the ass.

yea... going to take the first driving test soon and want to take dance classes but i have no money. Am saving for a labtop (iBook, 1.7K) and for holidays (all very uncertain). Yup!

Am becoming FAT. Need to exercise!!! Hahaha... Im gonna stop complaining. Hope to see ya all soon!

Bliss.

please msg me if you wanna blog but cant =)

Life in army.....................

Haloz!

Its recruit qx low hre again. Hmm I guess when I am typing an entry now, stanley is training hard in tekong and kexin is working hard to be a good policeman. Two of our fellow family members have enlisted for National Service.
I guess many people might envy my position as an army mailman cum clerk. But, things are not as rosy as it might seem. I cannot really say much about life at my army camp because we are not supposed to reveal anything. But, I would say in the army alot of things is by rank. And as long as you are an officer or a sergeant, you lead a damn good life. Recruits like me no matter whether I am right or wrong, I just have to stuck thumb! Life thre has been very very boring. There has been somedays I sit at the counter and do nothing but look at the door and at the phone. I am not allowed to read my own stuff because I am supposed to be keeping alert. Some of you might think slacking can be really shiok, but I can tell you looking at the door for 10 hours can be mentally torturing. I know this sounds weird and some people might laugh it off, but somehow I wished I would be upgraded to combat-fit. I might be going for a medical review and maybe things will change.
I guess many of you all must me working now. Hmm, you guys earn alot compared to me. I am only given a small allowance, barely survivable. However, I just have to live with it.
Anyway. I got to go. Tmr I have to work as usual. Boring ya. Hmm, hope to have one more class outing soon! Take care!

Ns life

Ns life
halox! It is recuit qing xiang here. Well, I am the first from our class to be posted for national serivce. I reported to Pulua Tekong on the 19 dec. I had my BMT there, i was posted to UCLYES Company. Hmm, we realli didnt do much there. Most of the time was spentt eating and sleeping and sightseeing. I put on 3 kg thre ya. Though it was onli 5 days, but it was really a challenge trying to live together with people that were not educated to people who suffered from mental illness. But, I think those people were really nice, esp some of the ah Bengs. After we cut botak, we all became the same. We became recruits of the Singapore Army. Now on the great stuff at tekong! Firstly, the bed is very comfortable! Secondly, the food is good! A standard meal will have four dishes plus rice, a soup, desert and ribena. On christmas, we had christmas lunch ya. main course included turkey, ham, baked rice and mashed potato. Cream of mushroon soup and Ribena. Then for desert we had longan tofu, conneto, cake and KitKat. i think about tekong is that everything is regimental ya, but perhaps this is necessary for the efficient running of the army. (Well, I cant sae too much about the not so good stuff, ha i will get charged ya!)Hmm then after my bmt, I was posted to one of the Defence towers at Cmpb. Unfortuantely, sad to say I failed the interview thanks to my terrible ENGLISH. ha but its okay. So i was transferred to Ministry of defence, Gombak Base now as a clerk cum postman. Life is quite good, hmm quite fun going around to post letter. the bad thing is that i am onli paid around 2 dollars an hour.Anywae my advice to our fellow guys going NS. 1)bring more undergarments 2) Always rmb Yes sir and No sir 3) Listen to instructions carefully and look around at others b4 starting to do stuff cauz most of the recruits do the wrong stuff! 4) lastly, if u are unwell, MUST report to Medical officer cauz thre have been quite a few unfortunate incidents. take care! will update soon.Recruit qx low
